S.I.L.O. Spa, which has always been attentive to the quality of detail and innovation in the technology sector, participated in the Call for Tenders by the Tuscany Region - Line 1.5.a seeking a project leader for an industrial research and development project titled “Fashion Chain Machinery & Plasma Solution (FCM&PS)”.

The aim of the FCM&PS project is the creation of non-precious metal jewellery using advanced mechanical and nanotechnology tools. This process gives the products a high functional quality, an eco-friendly finish - free of heavy metals - and original iridescent finishes. The project has also led to the creation of an automated production process for “composite” chains i.e. chains composed of different types of links.

Newly developed technology, such as the innovative DLC treatment, new soldering powders and an Nd-Yag laser system, have enabled the resolution of all problems related to the processing of non-precious metals with diameters greater than 4 mm.
